Bulk Haulage was established in 1982 by my Mother and Father, David and Marliyn Gale. David used to be a Transport Manager for a  local Haulage firm and Marilyn had worked in a chemist. They decided to buy two second hand tipper truck and rent the yard in Halton from Chas Carroll who owned the whole yard.

 Over the next few years another five vehicle were added to the fleet. Marilyn sourced work for the wagons, and did the invoicing whilst David drove the wagons and maintained them. As the yard was empty once all the vehicles left on a morning, it was suggested that the empty yard could be utilised. Various ideas were suggested and it was decided upon a Builders Merchants.

 Various materials were purchased and an advertising campaign launched. As word got around that a new Builders merchants had launched more and more customers came in and were impressed by what they saw. The rest is history. Many of our first customers are still using us since we first started, who we have built up a strong friendship and trust.

 Improvement to the yard were made with large sand bays built, concreting of the yard completed and various warehouses and offices built. More and more materials were stocked leading us to becoming one of the largest Stockists of Marshalls and Plasmor in the area.

 Bulk continues to offer the very best service, and offers a warm friendly and honest experience when you shop at Bulk. Deliveries in Leeds tend to be next working day if ordered before 2pm the day before. Sometimes same day service is possible.

 The Building Trade is having a tough time but positives can be taken as most of our prices have been slashed this year instead of increased. After a slow start to the year, we have gained a lot of new customer and got better deals from our suppliers on cement, Birtley lintels and Building Blocks to name a few which we can pass on to you, our valued customer.
